Bas files are like exe files. You just run them from within gwbasic. There’s no data stored in them. If you want to look at them then install gwbasic, run it and load the bas file. Then use the LIST command ( I think that’s it) to look at the lines of the program.
Pretty sure append works by patching the running copy of DOS, so it'd have to be pretty picky about the version of DOS. I think there's a version specifically for FreeDOS, so see if you can't hunt that one down.

I'm not sure about dos within android but under normal circumstances to get out of dos and back into windows you type EXIT and enter at the blinking dos prompt or just close (x) the dos window.

There you go, cheap generic crap. Replace it ASAP. There’s nothing wrong with getting a low cost PSU if you know what to look for but Logisys ain’t it. Read this then look at the Corsair:
Like I said, the fans are overkill. Plus if you have them configured wrong, they’ll do more harm that good. All that’s really needed is a rear exhaust fan plus the PSU fan. Front intake fans are OK but not really necessary. Side panel fans should NOT be used because all they do is disrupt the optimal “in thru the front, out thru the rear” airflow.
How did you apply the thermal paste when you installed the heatsink on your CPU? Proper paste application is critical. Your CPU uses the horizontal line method:

Others seem to suggest if may be a nasty, a virus of some sort…
When you install each utility – do NOT opt for automatic or custom installation. Opt to “manually” install it. Then observe carefully what tick boxes are “ticked/checked” and uncheck them all – apart from the utility itself. You do NOT want to install “useful” browser add-ons, nor change your home page; nor change your search engine and so on. All you want to install is the actual utility itself. Just about every utility these day offers to “give you useful extras” – which you do not need. Decline any and all of them.
And one other utility – a Kaspersky anti-virus rescue disk:
Download the ISO file; save and then burn it to a DVD. Boot up with that DVD.
The system will boot into a Linux variant (perfectly safe); go on-line to update its virus definitions; then will scan the system fully – and ideally/hopefully clean out anything nasty it finds. It loads itself in RAM and the hard drive is merely a resource for the Linux based OS to use – in this case scan. You do NOT install it – even if you see the option to do so; simply boot up with the DVD and run the whole show that way. This disk will find things that can hide away once windows has booted up; but as windows is “not” booting when you run the Kaspersky DVD – they have no-where to hide…
Once it’s finished close out, remove the DVD and boot as normal to your windows OS.
It “may”not be anything at all in terms of nasties/virus etc.; but who knows… Worth at least to clean out as per the utilities suggested above; and then if you’re inclined run the Kasperksy disk too.
All the above utilities are free; are regularly recommended here; and the download sites are clean and safe thus far.

If you have only one user when you boot normally, boot the computer in Safe mode and choose the Administrator user – usually that user does not require a password – select it and just press Enter. (Remove any bootable CD or DVD disks. Press F8 repeatedly while booting, don’t hold down the key, and when the boot choices menu appears choose Safe mode. The screen will fill with lines then stay the same for a short while – eventually you’ll see the Logon screen with the users on it – choose the Administrator user. )
