Hello, could anyone help me with a small problem I have with my Windows 10 mouse cursor?
So I know the default loading icon is a blue circle, except whenever something’s loading on my laptop, instead of showing the blue circle, I see the pixellated hourglass thing from Windows 6 or something. I’m not too clear when it was replaced, but I know it isn’t the default option.
It started today when I turned on my laptop. I noticed something fishy about the normal arrow cursor, but paid it no mind until I had to load a file and noticed the hourglass. That was a little odd, as everything was normal yesterday.
I went to this page, https://computing.net/answers/wi… , to look for answers, and upon following all the steps, I noticed that in the cursor schemes section I lacked the Windows Aero System Scheme. Then again, I realize as I type this, I’m using Windows 10 and the steps may be different.
The files have not been deleted, I think, because when I hit browse in Mouse Properties>Pointers, I see the default icons.
However, there is no scheme. If I select “None”, I get the hourglass. There is a “Use Default” button to the left of the browse button, but it is greyed out and does not work when I select it.
I am kind of new to software issues, so any help would be appreciated. 🙂
I placed 2 desktops side by side to test the Throbber behaviors. No abnormality was observed on The desktop that came with Windows 10 preinstalled. However on the desktop upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 without OEM-supplied Windows 10 drivers, the abnormality you have described was evident at my end. I didn’t notice it before mostly because in my opinion as long as everything else is functioning it was no big deal. This explain why I suspected the problem lies with the video driver.
