Soooooooo… My computer has never been very fast, but I was told that Windows 8 would run much faster on an older computer like mine than Windows 7 would. With the arrival of Windows 10 (and its being free) and a recommendation from a friend that got it today, I considered installing it. Problem is, my computer is rather old. Has anyone else installed it on an older computer as well? If so, I’d like to know your thoughts on it.

I hope you do not always believe what other tells you. Anyway, no one here (or in the world for that matter) can answer your question with absolute certainty. In theory the most recent operating system is supposed to be faster than its predecessor – but in reality it could be different. For this reason I suggest you read THIS and judge for yourself which will run faster on your not-so-old machine.
