Solved Robocopy MIR Ignore Timestamp Instead MIR Based On Size

Well, but it seems that, if you play your mp3’s, the time stamp changes, and robocopy copies all files with the MIR switch again, while of course, the files are exactly the same (they never change). Can you avoid copying mp3’s if for example, the size is the same, of just type a command so robocopy ignores time stamps for mp3’s but matches on filename or so?

    1. You might want to look at the software that you use to play mp3s. There is no reason for the last written timestamp to change unless, for some reason, it actually is writing to the file or changing its attributes. Perhaps it is recording metadata, or extended attributes, such as the number of times the file has been played?

      As far as I am aware there is no way to tell robocopy to ignore timestamps when mirroring directories
