    You don’t need to install any drivers for CD/DVD drives, Windows has the correct drivers built in. If they don’t work, than it’s most likely a dead drive.

  7. You will need a Torx 9 driver to open the drive. there is a screw under one of the labels too so make sure you remove that too. From there you can smash away at the platter and render the drive useless.
