As best I know “all” email utilities (on-line – pop3 – email application, and MS Office\Outlook & Express) allow you to attach a file or folder.

Which email application are you actually using?

When you create your Notepad document you simply save it, and remember where you put it. That is the location where you go to when attaching the file.

You may not have notepad installed, possibly you have wordpad instead? Both create text files (txt) so either would do.

To start either application, go to Start\run and then type notepad or wordpad and press enter.

If you don’t have either installed they can be downloaded for free.

Look for a circle of solder around the mounting hole. If you don’t have enough screws, at least make sure you install standoffs under every mounting hole. Leave the missing screw out of one of the middle holes and you should be OK.

As a consolation, CAT 6 has a max length of roughly 300 feet, so burying CAT 6 would have been the wrong choice.

That said, your options depend on if that coax is attached to the Comcast network. If it is, and it probably is if it was a Comcast tech that did the job, you’ll have to get a second cable modem registered to your account. If the cable terminates in your house, you could get a pair of ethernet over coax adapters. You’ll still have to worry about getting ethernet to the cable’s house end and a WiFi bridge for the cable’s garage, so I hope your garage is powered.

Alternatively, you could ignore the cable and go with a pair of directional WiFi antennas with their associated hardware.

mmm You may need to contact Apple about this as that account is the one currently associated with the device. All Apple kit is effectively “registered” with them via an email account.

Nip into your local Apple store and explain the situation. Possibly if you can prove your situation to their satisfaction things can be resolved…

Typically one needs the email address at least as with that one can then reset an Apple ID; and equally if one only has the Apple ID then one can often (via Apple site) discover the email account… With knowing either (ideally both) of these it’s usually possible to recover access and also change the Apple ID and also the email account associated with it.

    Long shot, that may work…

    http://osxdaily.com/2010/12/04/ipad…

    http://www.apple.com/support/appleid/

The second one is pure Apple land – all about the whole Apple ID and so on; and how to possibly discover what it is…

Overall though I think you may be wiser to have a chat directly with Apple and explain the situation. If you can demonstrate/prove your situation – they may likely help?

Least you can do is try? Have a copy of your Mum’s death certificate to hand; and perhaps any other documents that would show her address and also anything that clearly “links” you to her?

Installing Windows 98 on a modern system will be a serious challenge, one which may eventually prove futile. One big problem is that manufacturers gave up on Windows 98 years ago and it will be very difficult if not impossible to obtain compatible drivers. If you really must run Windows 98 it will be much easier to do so on a virtual machine such as VirtualBox or VMWare installed on a modern OS. See less
