I have two systems side by side, and one of them will not allow me to add pst files, the other will. They have the exact same group policy, version of Outlook, etc. I am still investigating.

The common fixes for the OP’s problem (which almost always resolve this) are:

    1) rename ‘mapisvc.inf’ file to ‘mapisvcOLD.inf’ – this file is found in two places: C:\Windows\System32, and C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\1033

If that doesn’t do it, try this:

    2) in REGEDIT, change the registry key. Usually (DisablePST = 1) was added and set to prevent the creation of PST files and hence no data types appeared in the list. When you modify the value of the registry key back to 0, you can add PST files again. You need to make the change to all versions of the key.

“This is a system board POST/BIOS error code. The ERROR 210: is a standard POST (Power On Self Test) errormessage that indicates an error with the keyboard.

The error condition is thata keyboard scan code was received from the keyboard when none was expected, after the keyboard was reset. If this occurs most of the time when you power on yoursystem, then it indicates that a key is sticking down or the key mechanical orelectrical parts are broken.

Sometimes blowing out and cleaning out around thekeys will resolve this problem. Otherwise, you need to replace your keyboard with a new (or at least a working) one.!

Were you using the same operating system when you had the Sims Complete Collection installed previously ?

You must install the sound software correctly.

The only difference in the following is you do this if you don’t see Programs and Features in Control Panel

    Windows 7 only

If you DID install drivers that way, go to Control Panel – display as Small Icons or Large Icons (not Categories) – Programs and Features and Un-install the software you installed, reboot, DO NOT install drivers while booting.

You could try searching the Electronics Arts (the maker of the game’s) web site.

    Audio Troubleshooting

If some of the audio in the game seems to be missing (such as EVA voice announcements), this is likely due to improper speaker settings. If speaker settings are set to a surround-sound configuration, but there is NO surround-sound speaker system present, then some audio channels will not be heard during gameplay.

E.g. My Realtek sound adapter is set to simply stereo (2 speaker) output from the green jack by default in Vista. I can change that in Control Panel – Realtek something.
NOTE – that setting is independent of the number of speakers plugged in that the sound adapter has detected. E.g. you can have 5 speakers (two pairs and a subwoofer) plugged in and detected yet the sound output is still to one pair,
or, you can have just a pair of speakers plugged in and detected and have the sound output set to more than a pair.

    Start>Control Panel>Power Options
In power options you can set different settings for when you are running on battery and when you are running on AC power. As an example you may want it to go to sleep after 10 minutes of inactivity on battery but it may work better for you at home when plugged in that it does not go into sleep for say 20 minutes (enough for a short break or snack). You should have a few major options or profiles and customize options you can modify the specific settings as you prefer.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
