Okay, before we go the firmware recovery route for your router, there’s one last thing we can try. It also leads into firmware recovery, so we’ll prepare for that as well.
1) Go to Asus’ support page for your router, and download firmware version 3.0.0.4.380.4180 (should be the top option), as well as the ASUS Firmware Restoration version 2.0.0.0 software.
2) Disconnect the router from the modem. Verify the WAN light (ring going around a circle) has gone out, but the LAN light (square looking) has not.
3) Set your PC’s network address to 192.168.1.5, subnet 255.255.255.0, and gateway 192.168.1.1. Reference this page if you don’t know how to do so: http://www.thewindowsclub.com/chang…
4) Try to access your router from your browser now. If you can, try resetting to factory defaults from there, and set your PC to use DHCP again.
5) If you can’t, install and run the firmware restoration tool you downloaded in step 1.
6) Remove power to the router, hold the reset button, and restore power. The power light should blink slowly. Once it starts blinking, release the reset button.
7) Back in the restore tool, hit the browse button and point it to the firmware you downloaded in step 1. Hit upload and let it run to completion.
8) If successful, the router should reboot itself, and the power light should stop blinking.
9) Go back into your PC’s network settings, and have your PC obtain an IP address automatically.
10) If everything went well, your PC should have an IP in the 192.168.1.x block, and you should have Internet access again
EDIT: Make sure you understand the steps here, unless you end up bricking the router further.

– for the PCI-express setting, use ASYNC, that will lock the PCIe frequency at 100MHz. – for the memory multiplier, use 2.0.
These settings, along with the others I listed above, should put the CPU at 2.67GHz @ 1066MHz FSB with the RAM running as DDR2-533 @ 266MHz frequency. If you want to overclock the CPU higher than that, leave the other settings as-is & just increase the CPU clock ratio. You should be able to hit 3.2GHz without increasing the CPU voltage. Keep an eye on the CPU temperature.

ALL of your personal data is at C:\Documents and Settings\(your user)\( files and sub-folders of your user), unless you saved your data in a location elsewhere deliberately.
