If you don’t see the Narrator in the taskbar, try checking the Task Manager under the Details tab (Crtl + Shift + Esc opens the task manager. You may need to click “More details” first).

    If it’s not that, it may be some spammy program; you should probably go through your programs in control panel and get rid of ones that look sketchy. (Control Panel -> Programs -> Programs and Features)

    Your processor has four physical cores plus four virtual cores, courtesy of hyper-threading. Windows lists all eight of them in Device Manager as well as in Task Manager.

    The motherboard has six SATA ports on it, which is why Device manager lists a total of six ATA channels. It also has four fan speed monitors, hence the four ACPI fans.

    All of this is normal. The instability is being caused by something else; most likely bad RAM. Return it while you still can.

    You’re making this way too difficult.

    “Dual” means two, correct? You have 2 channels – A & B. To enable dual channel mode, you need to use both channels at the same time. In your manual, the channels are shown as so:

    Channel A: DDR3_2, DDR3_4
    Channel B: DDR3_1, DDR3_3

    And the slots are arranged on your board (from left to right): 4, 2, 3, 1.

    If you were to install two RAM sticks & put them side by side in slots 4 & 2, you would only be using channel A, therefore you would be using single channel mode. To enable dual channel mode, you need to use BOTH channels. In other words, channel A + channel B. So the sticks should go in slots 4 & 3.

    For your 4 stick configuration, you need 12GB in channel A & 12GB in channel B, plus the pairing needs to be correct (8GB paired with 8GB, 4GB paired with 4GB). Either of these would be correct:

    DDR3_4 = 8GB
    DDR3_2 = 4GB
    DDR3_3 = 8GB
    DDR3_1 = 4GB

    DDR3_4 = 4GB
    DDR3_2 = 8GB
    DDR3_3 = 4GB
    DDR3_1 = 8GB

    EDIT:
    I have assumed the polarity and plugging arrangements are identical.

    Always pop back and let us know the outcome – thanks

    Seven generic possibilities for keyboard failure at startup::

    1) The keyboard or its cable is bad.

    2) The keyboard bios on the motherboard is bad.

    3) On most motherboards there is a small inline fuse near the keyboard connector. Perhaps that’s blown. You can’t tell by looking at it. It looks like a axial resisor or capacitor. It’ll be labeled on the motherboard as F1, F2, etc. but always starting with F.

    4) If you have a lock/unlock keyed switch on the front of the computer it is locked or the keyboard lock pins on the motherboard have been jumpered.

    5) The motherboard KB connection is loose or bad.

    6) Make sure it’s not a keyboard designed for the IBM PC/XT and compatibles (8088’s). Those used different timing signals than 286’s and above.

    7) It’s plugged into the wrong port.

    However, if you are running a file sharing application that’s a big enough hole for a knowledgeable person to get through.

    What the ISP can see is everything you downloaded and I mean everything. That’s how they were able to tell your friend what was downloaded.

    Sounds like a controller board on the hard drive may be failing. The error indicates a hard ware malfunction, usually it is the hard drive that fails to initialize. I would download seatools for dos, make a bootable cd. Insert the cd you made and have the computer first boot off the cd….it should load up seatools from the cd. Perform the short generic test if it passes, do a long generic test. If both pass perhaps it is another hardware device having issues.
