A suggestion from another forum asked about Extensions and Add-ons. After eliminating extensions and Add-ons one at a time, it seems that an Add-on called Bing Search Bar, put my Firefox back like IE 9 in that my scroll bar was now scrolling 6 lines at a time, just like I set it in my mouse settings and the faster scroll was not showing the flicker in my text anymore. Mysteriously the Bing Search Bar did show up a few weeks ago on my Desktop. Not sure how that happened. It is about the same time I started noticing my flicker problem in scrolling text web pages. I will consider this problem SOLVED for now. Thanks to all who gave their suggestions and comments. Happy Holidays.

“Boot with a xp cd and.do a repair install”

When you have installed XP on a hard drive when it was connected to one mboard, then remove that drive and connect it to a different mboard and try to boot the same XP installation from the drive, if the hardware on the different mboard, primarily the main chipset, is more than a little different from that on the original mboard, XP WILL NOT load all the way – that’s NORMAL !

Are you familiar with how graphics card in desktop computers work? For example, if you have a card with 512MB memory & you need 2GB memory, you would have to buy a new card & swap them. So to get more dedicated memory in a laptop, you would have to buy a better laptop.

    I wasn’t aware that LG made laptops – it’s a netbook isn’t it?

First you need to check that the problem is indeed a missing driver. Look in Device Manager. Under “Imaging Devices” you should see an error symbol. If there are no error symbols in Device Manager, it means the webcam itself is faulty so installing a driver for it is pointless.

If all it needs is a driver though, you can download it from the LG support website:
