You can download the demo for Half Life 2 from reputable sites. A lot of torrents are illegal and full of nasty stuff. Even if you could install it, chances are you couldn't play it on a laptop anyhow. You didn't post any system specs, but most laptop are not built for games.

To be fair, I doubt whether it is worth putting such lights on as the speed at which data moves over broadband is probably faster than a light - either a hardware or software one, can keep up with. Yes, and don't overlook the obvious like that the computer's volume control (speaker icon in tray lower right corner) is up at least half way. Also I have noted that if you plug in speakers for the first time when the computer is off or in sleep mode, it may not recognize the speakers and not auto configure them for you but if you plug them in when the computer is on, they are detected and windows will ask you what you have plugged in. If you click on speaker (or headphone, or microphone), it will configure it for you or if necessary, bring up the correct configuration window for you.
Go to Sony site Support>downloads>drivers and search for your system/operating system. Drivers for manufactured systems should only be acquired from them since their hardware is specially made for them and not like off the shelf hardware.
