Since you changed the hard drive, there’s probably nothing wrong with that, but when it’s new, it has no data on it, and it cannot be booted from if it has no operating system on it.

It’s probably showing you drive connections, not necessarily hard drives.
Install the original hard drive.
Always remove the AC adapter connection AND the main battery when you remove or install the hard drive or the ram.
Since the laptop may have been dropped, the ram may have a poor connection in it’s slots.

For a laptop, or netbook, you must remove both its main battery and AC adapter before you do that.

Since enabling or disabling Legacy USB Devices or similar is a bios setting, the operating system you’re installing has nothing to do with that. If that setting was disabled, there’s no way you could boot the computer from the DVD with a USB keyboard,.
Some brand name system installations have software that allows you to access the bios in Windows, but as far as I know that’s not possible if only Windows was installed. However, you can usually change the time and date in the bios automtically by changing them in the operating system.

It’s not rocket science. See the Owner’s or User’s manual for your brand name system, or if you have a generic system, see the manual for your mboard model.

Being able to use a PS/2 keyboard can’t be disabled by any bios setiing. If your computer has a PS/2 port for a keyboard, all you need to do is borrow a PS/2 keyboard, plug it in before booting the computer (into the purple PS/2 port) and change the setting in the bios for Legacy USB devices or similar to Enablled, Save bios settings. Then use your USB keyboard. (DO NOT unplug or plug in a PS/2 connected keyboard while the computer is running. You can connect more than one keyboard to the computer at the same time if they’re not using the same type of port, but you can only use one of them at a time.).

There are MANY things that can come into play here. If the power brick is not putting out the right voltage then both the battery will not charge and the laptop would not run. If the power circuit on the laptop is bad then neither will work either. If the CPU was ever removed from the laptop and the old thermal compound was not cleaned off or there was not new applied (or incorrectly) then it would thermal limit before boot up was complete. That is just the tip of the iceburg and you are going to have a really hard time figuring out. If you have or can borrow a power supply from a similar laptop that is compatible you can try that both with and without the battery. The rest is just hard work and a lot of luck.

Harping back to the cleanup – often there are groups of very small connecters all together in one lump, looking like a single plug. It is easy for one of those to go adrift (after all the wires off your fans clearly prove this sort of thing can happen). As per #1 have a darned good look at these in a strong light – it would be a shame to move to bigger things if something as simple as a little connector is causing this issue.

Once you have created the Named Range, this code should clear all of the cells in the range, assuming you used myMergedCells.

BTW…merged cells can some times be a pain, especially if you want format a range of cells that includes some of those merged cells.
Essentially the same formatting can be accomplished by selecting the cells that you want to “merge” and format them as Center Across Selection instead. This will center your text as if the cells are merged, but each cell will retain it’s own identity.
If you use this method and create a Named Range from those single cells, the code would not have to loop through each cell and you could clear the entire Range with one instruction:

You could also simply choose that Named Range from the Name Box and press Delete, something you can’t do with a Named Range full of merged cells.

Since you changed the hard drive, there’s probably nothing wrong with that, but when it’s new, it has no data on it, and it cannot be booted from if it has no operating system on it.
