I have a CoolerMaster 750W, so this is more than enough. My rail is at 12.038 volts and I have plugged the 2×6 pins connectors.
I have done something so install it, tell me if everything is ok. I went into device manager and right clicked on the stardard VGA and went to properties. There, I chose to manually install the drivers from a file on my PC and I selected the 12.8 drivers from Radeon. Now it is detected as Radeon HD 7800 series. Is this how it is supposed to be? Nothing detect it as HD 7870 precisely. I can open my games, but I do not have Catalyst center, etc.

You can’t reset the password on modern laptops unless you know what it is.
The password info is stored on a soldered in chip on the mboard that is not the bios chip, and removing all power to it will not erase the user data including the passwords from that chip.
Do you have a legitimate reason for not knowing it ?

There are three types of laptop passwords that can be set in it’s bios. – a system access password – you have to type the password every time you use the computer to use the computer at all. – a hard drive access password – you don’t need to type a password to use the computer at all, but you need to type one before the operating system will load.
A legitimate user is extremely unlikely to forget either one of those because you must type it every time you use the computer. If you bought the computer used and the seller claims they don’t know or forgot either of those, they’re probably lying and the computer was stolen.

As Derek suggests, first check with hp, then maybe hunt on Amazon, possibly Egghead (if in USA/Canada); even eBay; as prices can/do vary. And if possible secure an option to return a replacement unit if it won’t fit?

If you have an XP Install CD which is bootable and a CDROM/DVD Drive which is set in BIOS to be ahead of the hard disk in boot order than all you need to do is stick the CDROM in to your optical drive and turn your PC on.
NOTE: If you do reformat your disk then you will loose all data. Therefore you should be thinking about backing up your valuable bookmarks, email and other data before going down that route.
Also if this is an OEM PC then you may have a recovery partition on it which may allow you to recover to factory defaults (i.e. to how it was on the day you bought it). This is the better route to take if you have this option available.
Finally you may also need to know your licence key (C.O.A). This is normally on a sticky label on the bottom of a laptop or on the side of a desktop. However, if the install is an OEM SLP install then the C.O.A. in use will not be the one on the sticky label but a Volume Licence OEM key which you will have to make a note of.
There is a utility keyfinder which you can download to read the key you have in use before you do a reformat. You can get this utility form: http://www.magicaljellybean.com/
