    Try this, i’ve used it to turn my laptop into a desktop wireless dongle:

    Go in to Manage Network Connections, or a page that shows connections (LAN 1, LAN 2, WIFI, etc). Your 3g dongle should show up there. Drag a box around your dongle icon and the LAN connection (it might say ethernet) icon and right click. Click on Bridge Connections. This should create a pass-through to the internet no prob.

    Try installing the router and when it fails on the last step, keep it connected.
    GO to 192.168.1.1, use admin/admin as the userid and password.
    On the left menu – go to Network>>Mac Clone>>if you see different values in the your PC’s MAC address, and the WAN MAC address, press the Clone Mac Address button and save.
    This solved the problem for me!

    Nothing to rattle around on there that I can see, unless they included and loosely attached a cpu sink.
    Probably no need for the extra support you suggest, assuming it came in the original MSI packaging.

    If you are unduly concerned and suspect damage, send it back. Otherwise no harm in giving a heatsink screw a tweak if that’s what’s needed and your observation is correct..
    Such an operation wouldn’t normally warrant a surgical approach. Just take the usual care, as you would in handling any mobo, graphics card or RAM.
