My HCL [ME] laptop;s half screen normal and half screen is grey. It is windows XP .
Through grey screen I am able to read or see with a difference of brightness vertically.
Plz help to solve this problem.

like this more granularly. All I can say is that it is probably
a hardware problem, and could be as simple as a loose
ribbon cable between the video controller and the screen.
More likely the cable is damaged. The damage may not
be visible, but the cable is fairly easy to replace. If not the
cable, then the fault is most likely in the screen itself.
