I Have a Blank Window That Doesn’t Go Away

  • 0

Hi,
I have a blank window that opens at start up on my acer laptop which I bought about 3 months ago. The window has no words or warning box or anything just a borderless white square in the centre of the screen (with the screen display still visible round the edges) and a blank button on the blue bar at the bottom (did I mention I have zero computer knowledge?!).
There is no ‘close button’ to ‘ex out’ and it doesn’t right click on the blue button on the bar. It seems to cause no problems and norton 360 says everything is okay, it’s just really annoying and makes me worried that it’s up to something…
I’ve tried to google some answers but everyone else seems to have text on their problem boxes.
Any ideas?
(system info: windows xp home edition version 2002 service pack 3. if that helps)

  1. right click on a blank spot on your desktop click on properties, then click on the desktop tab and choose a desktop image and then click on apply. That will change your wallpaper and that blank box should be gone. See of that works for you.

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers
