Solved How To Make Laptop Boot To External Monitor?

  • 16

I broke my laptop monitor but I can load the screen to a monitor like I am now when starting up the laptop but

I AM IN SAFE MODE

When it boots normally, I see the Windows loading screen BUT the output is loaded to the laptop monitor which doesn’t work!

The only way is for me to boot into SAFE MODE when it starts up otherwise it will automatically boot into the broken BLACK screen

Does anyone know how I can change it so it automatically loads the output to the external monitor?

Is it a good idea to browse the web in SAFE MODE? because this will be my only option if I can’t get it to boot to monitor

  1. With the external monitor connected, boot into safe mode, then disable the display adapter (in device manager). Reboot (with the external monitor STILL connected), and allow Windows to boot normally. Hopefully, you should now have a display on the external monitor.
