Does anyone know how I can close Program Manager, so that Adobe updates can start? This is driving me MAD.

Does anyone know how I can close Program Manager, so that Adobe updates can start? This is driving me MAD.
After some time being MAD with this I discovered that the update works when you kill the explorer.exe process. I know it sounds odd.. but it works.
