The splash screen has nothing to do with Windows…it’s part of the BIOS. If the image is corrupt, update the BIOS.
1.Step to fix this “Splash Screen” error is to find out
your BIOS version, Computer Model and
Name(manufacturer). Go to START/RUN and type inside
dxdiag then press enter.
A screen is opening showing you ,among other info, the
PC Model name,and BIOS version
Note these two somewhere.
2.Go to the HP (assuming it is HP) site and search for “Rom Flash Utilities
686P2” where the last number is the BIOS’s version.
result should look like this : “CPQFlash Utility for
Compaq Models with a 686P2 Family ROM”
3. Download and install following the instruction in the
“readme” ,in the computer to fix.
Be aware, this is a BIOS flashing, check twice the bios
and pc model before installing. Flashing the BIOS
wrongly will kill that computer for good.
