Samsung ATIV Laptop Boot Priority Order Problem

  • 1

Hello

When i go to UEFI (Phoenix SecureCore Tiano Setup?) and change boot order to boot into CD/DVD, it doesn’t boot into CD/DVD. After when i go back to UEFI the boot order list is restored to it’s original position. So how can i boot from my cd.

Also when i try to access to BIOS by pressing f2 nothing happens.

  1. In no way can installing Windows damage anything. However, coincidences can definitely happen so there is no reason why there couldn’t have been a hardware failure at that time. Two components failing at the same time is possible but stretches the imagination a bit.

Just a general comment about taking a computer into repair (not this particular one). If a repairer has taken trouble to change a component and it doesn’t fix it they will often leave it in and then change something else which was the main culprit. Although they might charge for both this isn’t necessarily a con. It can be the most cost effective way forward because time is often far more expensive than the components and if you have two new components you have the best chance of reloading Windows successfully.

Whatever, glad to hear you got it sorted and thanks for popping back to let us know. Clearly no messing with software would have fixed a hardware fault.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome – thanks
