Solved Windows 10 Update Caused Touchpad Malfunction

  • 0

Squiggly lines that look like fireworks, from touchpad malfunction on my laptop, I think? It prevented me from signing into my laptop.. F2 completely didn’t work F12 finally got me into safe mode after trying for a couple of hours, by pressing ESC and F8. But even in diagnostics and the blue recover screen, it would randomly push items and start me back over. Once I got into safe mode it took another couple of hours to type my passcode because it would constantly press the item in the bottom right or turn ease of access keyboard on so that it would delete everything I wrote. I finally am able to use an USB mouse, I am in safe mode, but these squiggly line that looks like bugs flying at night with burst of fireworks is still on my screen. It’s no longer pressing random buttons, but touchpad doesn’t work. It started this morning after a Windows 10 update.

If this is happening before Windows even starts, then it has nothing to do with Windows updates. It sounds like you have a defective touch pad. And if the touchpad, graphics, and webcam are all acting up, you may have a defective motherboard.
