Hi all
very frustrating as I’ve trawled the forums and also tried everything but nothing happens
long story short,I have windows 8.1 on my laptop, did all the critical/updates,restarted etc..no problems
the windows 10 pop up appears fine as well..so i follow the prompts etc ,since i don’t want to wait i downloaded the windows creation tool from the official page, that downloaded fine and also ran fine..but then nothing happens, even after restarting
what am i missing here?
appreciate any help because i have run out of ideas here
cheers
You should create your own thread if you ahve a question and want help.
In general, you have a few options to do the upgrade.
1- You an go through the ‘Get Windows 10’ option icon.
2- You can do the Download Windows 10 directly and install it.
3- You can run the media creation tool (as above) to create a DVD in order to install it from outside of Windows, on machines which are having more software issues and you just want to do a clean install, or if you want to install it on multiple machines and do not want to do the download for each one of them.
The first two will walk you through everything without needing any instructions as long as you read each of the questions before hitting OK (always recommended). The last option is more for tech people who would know how use the ISO image to create the install media and want to do this extra step to possibly save a few steps later.
A lot of people want to trash MS but they are still be best game in town. Apple is not any better, they often try to make things appear to be simpler but that is because they tend to hide options, this means that if you want to do something a little differently than they think you should do it, then you have a lot of trouble forcing it to do it your way. With Windows you can often do something 4 or 5 ways depending on your preferences but with Apple you have to learn their way of doing things and learn a whole list of shortcut keys to do otherwise simple things. Yes, short cuts are great and save time, especially when you do them repeatedly, but if say you are not sure how to do something that you rarely do, with Windows you can probably find one of the 6 possible ways to do it yourself but with Apple, it is either use the short cut or go through an elaborate multiple step process that may be even harder to find. They are no better than Microsoft, they control everything from the hardware to the software to how your iPhone will connect. If you really want something different, be brave, build your own machine and install a free operating system like one of the Linux distributions. I have worked with Apple and even a little with Linux and in general, I prefer Windows (I just skip a few when I can (ME, Vista, & 8 (though not as completely as the other two)).
You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
