How to get rid of UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_DEVICE error

This how to explains how to get rid of UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_DEVICE error….

Step 1. Boot from Windows XP CD

Step 2. Press R to enter in recovery console

Step 3. Type 1 and press ENTER

Step 4. Type your administrator password and press ENTER (leave empty if none)

Step 5. Type FIXMBR and press ENTER

Step 6. Type Y and press ENTER

Step 7. Type FIXBOOT and press ENTER

Step 8. Type Y and press ENTER

Step 9. Type chkdsk /r /p and press ENTER

Step 10. Once check disk utility finishes, type EXIT and press ENTER

Now the system should boot normally…
