Hi,
Almost everything I’ve seen in the registry has SysWOW64, but one path has SysWow64 and it might be causing me trouble. I was concerned it was malware.
I had been having trouble installing a newer version of PhysX, and a NVIDIA tech suggested that a registry value from old anti-virus software could be to blame. I checked the path of the value, which turned out to be fine, except it was C:\Windows\SysWow64\vbscript.dll. Two more almost identical keys had similar values, except for using SysWOW64, which is what got me concerned. It was also mentioned that the key, listed below, should not be in HKEY_CURRENT_USER, which it was.
The key/subkey I was concerned about is
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Wow6432Node/Classes/CLSID/{B54F3741-5B07-11cf-A4B0-00AA004A55E8}/InprocServer32, and its “Default” value
The other two keys are identical, except they start with B54F3742 and B54F3743, and seemed to have a correct path to SysWOW64.
Thanks
