“Is it a virus or malware that has infected my lenovo?”
Lets find out.
1: Download & run Unhide http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/for… http://download.bleepingcomputer.co… A introduction as to what this program does. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/for… For those of you who no longer have the %Temp%\Smtmp folder, you will not be able to use Unhide to restore your Start Menu items. With this in mind, I have created some scripts to restore the default Start Menu for specific versions of Windows that I have access to. You can view the available versions below. I will be adding more as time goes on. Once the program has been downloaded, double-click on the Unhide.exe icon on your desktop and allow the program to run, it does take some time, be patient. This program will remove the +H, or hidden, attribute from all the files on your hard drives. If there are any files that were purposely hidden by you, you will need to hide them again after this tool is run. When Unhide is complete, it will create a logfile on the Windows Desktop called Unhide.txt. Let me know if it dosn’t produce a log please.

“You need to adjust the resolution on the laptop video display configuration. You are trying to get he TV to display a resolution it cannot handle. Reduced the resolution then work your way up till you find the highest the TV can handle.”
I’m assuming you have a Toshiba LCD, Plasma, or LED LCD TV that is new enough that it has an input port meant for using the TV as a computer monitor.
You must select the input source the computer video output is connected to on the TV by using either the remote for it or a button on the front of the TV. E.g. PC, or HDMI, or VGA, or DVI.
READ the manual for the TV. It will usually tell you what resolutions you can use when the TV is used as a computer monitor. If it doesn’t say that specfically, in any case the resolution you use for the display on the TV in Windows settings should have the same aspect ratio as the physical screen on the TV – e.g. 16 X 9 , or 1.777 (to 1) when you divide the first number in the resolution – the width – by the second number in the resolution – the height.
RIGHT click on a blank part of the Windows 7 main desktop screen, choose Personalize, then Display Settings. There are two display icons there – one is for the display on your built in laptop display, the other one is for the display on the TV. There is usually something you can click on to Identify which display is which – it will display a large number 1 on your laptop display, a large number 2 on the TV display, when it has working video from the computer..
You click on the icon for the display you want to set the resolution for, in this case the display on the TV, BEFORE you set it.
I don’t know if this applies to Windows 7 but it does apply to XP. Windows enables only one display by default. Hold your cursor over each display icon – if the one for the TV shows Not Active or similar, RIGHT click on it and enable it. (For a laptop or netbook, you often also have the option of pressing a key combo to toggle the display to external display, built in display, or sometimes both.)
