May be faulty RAM so buy 2 sticks from somewhere else.

Make sure the RAM exactly matches the specs of what is compatible with your system, especially the speed of the sticks, and make sure it’s unbuffered & non-ECC.

    “how to get Linux Mint?”
Go to the Mint website & download the ISO file for Mint 9. Then use a program such as ImgBurn to burn it to a CD.

  6. Googling for that driver produces lots of hits. I can't say they are for WinXP. That said, I would think that WinXP would configure the card automatically. Are you using SP3?

After putting in the new one did you go into bios setup and set the date? Sometimes when the date is at bios default it assumes the battery is bad and gives that message.

It’s also possible the battery socket is bad or as Stuart mentioned, it may not be fitting right or the socket may have broken solder joints on the motherboard.

But yeah go ahead and replace it with the 2032. It’ll last longer so it’ll be longer before you have to go digging around inside the laptop to replace it again.

Edit Oh, let me ask, how easy was it to get to that battery? A relative has an N4010 that’s losing time and will need the battery replaced.
