As long as you install SP3 and install a reliable and trusted antivirus and third-party firewall, you need not worry about security holes.

Don’t move the mouse while clicking on each file or subfolder, otherwise Windows will make a copy of it in the same parent folder .

– hold down Crtl, click on the Ntuser… files one by one, to de-select those – let go of Ctrl
– place the cursor over the highlighted bar for any folder or file, RIGHT click, select Copy ……..
It’s a good idea to make sure your hard drive your Windows partition is on is not failing when you have a data corruption problem, BEFORE you attempt to fix the problem.
If you don’t have a floppy drive, you can get a CD image diagnostic utility from most hard drive manufacturer’s web sites, but obviously you would need to make a burned CD, preferably a CD-R for best compatibilty, on another computer if you need to.
If the hard drive itself tests okay, any data problems found can be fixed, one way or another.

It’s a good idea to make sure your hard drive your Windows partition is on is not failing when you have a data corruption problem, BEFORE you attempt to fix the problem.
Check your hard drive with the manufacturer’s diagnostics.
