Start the computer and let it boot to the diagnostic cd, you may have to change the boot order in the bios if you do not have a "startup menu" option. Copy your stuff ( don’t forget your emails & address book ) onto the host HD or other media. Now put it back in your comp, once again, no need to bolt it in at this stage ( change the jumper, back to where it was ) go into the Bios & set the boot to either Boot from floppy or CD 1st. Now off the boot floppy, fdisk, reboot & format. Or, from the CD, delete ALL the partitions & format to NTFS. You lose everything. Now reinstall the operating system.
Do you have a touchscreen? If so, try turning off the touch screen feature for testing purposes. If it stops jumping around, you either have a corrupt driver or a bad screen. HP put out a tablet PC a couple of years ago and many of them had bad touch screens. They would do exactly what you are describing, mouse moving around on its own & left and right mouse clicking. We ended up sending hundreds of them back to HP to have the screen replaced.
Reza12, you're trying to install 2 OSs on the same partition. They don't play well together. See if you can designate a new partition (dunno if you can & retain 7) and put XP on it? HTH. Ed in Texas.

Sorry, you cannot Format a DVD-R disc....a DVDRW, yes, no problems. It looks like your DVD burner might have stopped recognizing -R for some reason, especially if you used them before...maybe the DVD burner is going south.
