Make sure it is plugged in an on. In the Properties of the LAN connection on the PC, set the following:
LAN Properties -> TCP/IPv4 -> Properties Check -> Use the following IP Address IP Address: 192.168.0.51 Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 Default gateway: 192.168.0.50
Then try – If this doesn’t work – take it back, it’s no good!

I realised what the problem was, on the resolution you can change between x16 or x32, when i changed to a higher resolution it for some reason changed to 16 instead of 32 so you just need to change it to like 1366x768x32 instead of x16

Copy one .dat file off the flash drive onto your desktop. Assuming it still only shows a .dat extension then change it to .jpg instead. Double click it and let us know if it opens, or what exactly happens.

System Restore saves the information for each partition in a hidden folder called System Volume Information on that partition. As far as I know there is no way of altering this location, but you can control how much space it uses

If it is not recognized, go into BIOS and make sure it is recognized there and make the appropriate adjustments and begin again. (you did not mention RAID so I will leave it out)
That is the most I can supply without more information. Most people these days are using SATA drives for many reasons and most of my experience is with PATA and SATA drives, but much is similar. If you need more help supply all details and there will be someone who can help.
