Dividing a spreadsheet in Excel into panes can make it easier to do certain tasks.

While panes can be useful and helpful in some cases, there may come a point when they are no longer needed.

This is where you will need to find a way to remove panes from your spreadsheet.

How to Remove Panes in Excel:

Removing the panes from a spreadsheet can be a very simple process.

You will find that the methods in this tutorial are super simple, quick and offer convenience if you want to remove panes quickly.

To start, let’s explore the first technique:

    1. Apply the Double-Click Method

The Double-Click Method involves carrying out the super simple task of double-clicking in order to eliminate panes in Excel.

The Double-Click Method takes very little time, making it an ideal option if you are looking to remove panes from your spreadsheet, while saving time in the process.

Even better, there are also no long or complicated formulas needed to get this task done.

To try out the double-click method in a few, short steps below:

    1. Go to the worksheet which has the panes that you want to remove on it.
    2. Locate the divider of the pane that you want to get rid of. (Lines or bars that separate panes are sometimes referred to as dividers).

Note: The dividers can be moved around if this makes it easier for you. You can also move the dividers in different directions in order to change the size of the panes.

    1. Double-click on the divider. You should only have to double-click one time on each divider. If done correctly, this should cause the pane to disappear. Repeat this process for each pane that you would like to remove. The steps for the method should now be complete.

After using the Double-Click Method, you should be able to quickly and easily remove any panes that you have been wanting to get rid of.

If the panes are still there, consider moving onto the next method.

    2. Use the Split Method to Remove Panes

‘Split’ is a handy feature that can be used to divide spreadsheets into multiple panes and work with them separately, instead of as a whole.

By using this feature, worksheets can be divided vertically or horizontally – depending on how you want to arrange the sheet.

Using the ‘Split’ feature can also give you the benefit of working on a spreadsheet which is divided up into multiple parts (or panes) – making it a great option to get multiple different tasks done without having to open completely new documents.

However, the Split option can also be used if you want to remove the panes and make the worksheet whole again.

This technique will work on panes that are already visible within the window.

This option would be helpful if you have multiple panes already open on your screen but need the worksheet to be back as one page without dividers.

To see how the Split Methods works and how it you can apply it:

    1. In the ribbon menu, find View, then locate the Window group. The View tab allows you to change the view of your worksheets. This feature makes it possible to make adjustments like increasing or decreasing spreadsheet size, allowing different elements to be shown or other changes which you can use to improve your experience. The Window group can allow you to make changes to your spreadsheet window.

    2. Next, click ‘Split’ to get rid of the panes.Note: If there are no split panes already in the spreadsheet before trying this method, pressing Split may cause panes to appear. If this happens, just press Split again to remove them from the sheet. After this step, there should be nothing left to do.

Applying the Split Method is super easy and can enable you to remove split panes from Excel in no time.

    Conclusion

Removing panes in Excel can be a matter of taking a few steps here and there.

If for some reason you are having trouble with getting the panes to go away, make sure to try each method until it works, while carefully going through each step.

You may have to experiment a bit to see what works and what doesn’t work.

I hope this solution has been helpful in assisting you with removing panes in Excel!
