Hi – hopefully is probably something simple to fix, but I’m at a loss.
I use word for everything, so it’s really irritating.

Earlier today, I opened a word file where the gray areas on each side of the white ‘page’ were missing. Now, each time I try to open a new word document, they are all like that. The old ones still look the same, but I can’t figure out how to make it go back to the way it was.

Screencaps in case I’m not being clear:

The way word should look: http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/…

The way word looks: http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/…

I have both in the ‘print’ view, which is my preferred layout.

Also, in the new layout, I have to scroll side-to-side to see the whole page.

I took another look, and the rulers at the top of the page are different (http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t135/ladyphenyx/rulercompare.jpg) but I can’t get the incorrect one (on the left) to go back to as it was (the one on the right).
How do I make it go back to looking like the first screencap? “The way word should look”
Well, I would probably say that’s the default, but you can make it look however you like.
Use Open Office – sorry just couldn’t resist it LOL.
Glad you sorted it anyhow.
“Use Open Office”
Or LibreOffice, both are free. Looks like you’re using a 10 yr old version of Word.
