Hi i have just copied and pasted a years worth of bank statements into an excel spreadsheet but am unable to total any of the figures as they are not recognised as an excel format. I have tried all the various formatting options but to no avail. the only thing that works is to insert a new column and reimput all the figures!!! Your help would be greatly appreciated

A quick way to determine if you have Real Dates is to format the cell as Number.
If it is a Real Date it will display as a 5 digit number.
