Solved AppHangB1 Error In Excel – Very Slow

  • 0

Hi Heroes,

I’ve got quite a big spreadsheet (1.4MB) with a lot of calculations on it but nothing Excel shouldn’t be able to handle. When I try to copy and paste it causes excel to go “Not responding”

Any help on how to clear this up very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

  1. If your using 2007 or 2010 try a Diagnostic:

Running Microsoft Office Diagnostics from within Excel/Word

    Click the Microsoft Office button
Click on the Excel/Word Options button to bring up the Excel Options dialog box (at the bottom of window)
Click on the Resources button in the left hand pane
Click on the Diagnose button in the right hand pane
    Click Continue
    Click Run Diagnostics

Running Microsoft Office Diagnostics from the Start Menu

    Click on the Start button
    Click All Programs
    Click Microsoft Office folder
    Click Microsoft Office Tools
    Click Microsoft Office Diagnostics
    Click Continue
    Click Run Diagnostics

You could also try starting in SAFE Mode:

    Click START
    click Run

    Enter: excel /s

If you get an error message, you may have to use the complete path, something like:

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Excel.exe /s

Safe Mode forces Excel to bypass:

All files in any Excel startup folder.

Add-ins: The Addins dialog box still displays the
selected addins, but, the addins are not loaded.

Excel toolbars (Excel.xlb or <username>.xlb): The
original installation default toolbar settings are used.

Excel specific registry information: The original
installation default registry settings are used.

If this solves your problem, then the culprit resides somewhere in the above locations.
