Solved How To Connect Tp-Link Td-w8901g Via Lan To Another Router

Hi everyone,

I would like to connect my TP-Link TD-W8901G router to an optical modem via LAN cable, to be able to use TP-Link’s WiFi. I cannot setup anyhow the router to get IP address from the modem. Called the support to check the IP but was told that it’s dynamic and they are unable to tell.

The router has a bridge mode which I think is what needed.

Also this TP-Link router is ADSL router and I wander if it is meant for these type of connection.

Any help is much appreciated.

      You’ll want to look at the scenario wherein you interconnect the two routers using the LAN port to LAN port method.
