Yesterday I changed all of the ink cartridges on my Epson 545 Workforce printer. It is running wirelessly through a D-Link router connected to an input box from the cable company. The computer is running on Windows Vista. I did nothing different than many times before, but this time the printer starting printing immediately after I closed the cover. It printed about a half a page of what looked like internal settings or some sort, then started another page but on this one it printed out a line or two of unrecognizable character combinations, then another, then another, and so on!. The printer did not respond to any commands from its keypad or other buttons, nor would it respond to any commands or actions from the computer. The only action which had any affect, was to actually power the unit off, but as soon as it was turned back on, the same sequence began again. I disconnected everything attached to it, and rebooted the computer, but again with the same results.

What did you have connected to the printer?
If you can, connect the printer to a computer directly or to the router via a patch cable to see if that stops things.
Is your wireless router secure?
Are you using genuine Epson cartridges?
