Asus P7H55-M Pro USB Post-Hibernation Issue

  • 0

Hi, I’ve got this really annoying issue with my motherboard. After hibernation, the computer starts up normally, but USB devices do not function. I’ve noticed that the mouse’s sensor light isn’t on, and any USB drive/device I connect isn’t picked up at all by Windows. Keyboard and sound still work though.

Is there a patch or solution to this, any help is appreciated, this is getting frustrating.

  1. This is a desktop system? Turn off hibernation. That process was primarily designed as a battery preservation tool for laptops and it seems your motherboard is not fully compatible with it. I doubt you will find a solution unless there is a bios update available from Asus that addresses the issue. Don’t do a bios update unless it specifically refers to your problem as there is a small but real risk of killing the motherboard if anything goes wrong during bios update.

  2. Hi,

Have you checked the issue using a different USB devices?

For the built-in USB ports, I would suggest you to uninstall the drivers installed on the computer and download the drivers from the manufacturer website.

Method 1: Run the Hardware troubleshooter and check.

Follow the steps to run the troubleshooter:

    a. Press Windows key + W on your keyboard to show the Charms bar.

    b. Type Troubleshooting and select troubleshooting.

    c. Now type Hardware and devices in the search option.

    d. Click on Hardware and devices troubleshooter to run the troubleshooter.

Method 2: Uninstall and reinstall USB Controllers Drivers

I would suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the Bluetooth drivers and check if it helps.

    a. Press Windows Key + R, type devmgmt.msc.

    b. Expand the Universal Serial Bus Controllers section by clicking on the”+” sign.

    c. Uninstall each of the devices under theUSB Controller section by right-clicking on each one, and then clicking Uninstall.

    d. Close the Device Manager and restart your computer. Windows will automatically re-install the USB controllers in your computer, without you having to do anything further. Your computer will now run USB devices properly.

    Method 3:

If the issue still persists, you may have to update the chipset driver to the latest by visiting the manufacturer website.

    Hope this information helps.
