I had it for a long time and never unplugged it from my computer without safe remove. The thing is, a few days ago, its original cable broke (due to the odd angle the mini usb port is at) and it suddenly disconnected just as I was transferring some files from my computer.
At first, my computer wouldn’t recognize it, it even asked me to format it once, but after a while, I managed to hold the cable still and finally had access to my files.
The cable is completely ruined now and I bough a new one, but when I plug it in, the led lights up, but the computer does not detect it and neither does the hard drive itself make any sound of functionality.
The only sound it makes is a faint repetitive tap-like sound, as if it does not manage to start up or something.
Please help me out, I have like 200 GB of files on there so formatting it won’t be a good solution.
