How To Identify A CPU Model By Looking At It

I have a Intel CPU – used and old and I am not using it
Pls dont suggest softwares or mobo manual or purchase receipt etc – I have none
I want a way to identify the CPU by looking at it… as simple as that
I want to know if it is a Dual Core or a Core 2 Duo
There is absolutely nothing written on the top or its all gone cuz of the thermal paste
All I can see is a long number on the front… which is:
N4648812
A8622
And on the back I can see the chip cores etc and the number 100
Here are a few pics, I used a mobile cam hence its messed up…

Any help would be appreciated… thanks in advance

    1. Use household rubbing alcohol on a paper towel. If it dissolves it, you just keep using a clean part of the paper towel and repeat. If it softens it and gets gooey, use a piece of plastic like an old credit card (not metal) and push off the thickest part and then use the alcohol again. Be very careful with the other side of the CPU and keep everything away from the contact surfaces during this process. Then you can read you CPU model series, number, and other important information.

      You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
