Within the last month or so, whenever I go to a restore point on a networked PC, the system is creating a new user profile with the domain name tacked on to the profile folder name. This never used to happen and it defeats the ease of going to a restore point. Has anyone experienced this and hava a solution?

Is it a replication of the current local user's name?

I would troubleshoot the reason for the repeated Restore.

Guapo - yes. As an example, let's say that the user's name is user1 and the domain is corp1. Before going to the restore point, the folder that the profile uses is just user1. After the restore point is done, that folder remains, but the profile that is now being used is found in user1.corp1 and therefore has no files or settings.

Jennifer SUMN,
Perhaps I did not explain myself well in the original post. These restore points are not always on the same PC. This has happened to me and a colleague on several different PCs.

Bewildered, this is normal behavior. If you want the profile to be the same as the "old" one, login with your DA account and copy the old profile to the new one.

I am not sure when this became normal behavior. Up until the last month or so, this was not an issue. We had never had new profiles created and now it does it everytime. Was there a Microsoft update that made this change and made this suddenly become normal? Things were much nicer and easier before any "improvement".
