Subject: registry items on startup HELP?
OS: XP home 5.1 sp2
CPU/Ram: 3.2 Ghz/2 G
Model/Manufacturer: Dell XPS
Comment:

I have some windows upon startup that pop up looking for files: 2 sets that basically say: "windows cannot find (7 foreign rectangle characters - 14 for. rectangle characters). Make sure you typed the name correctly then try again." and
"Could not load or run(the 7-14 character rectangles again) specified int he registy, remove reference file" etc. I've looked and tried to identify them but am not sure.

Could it be one of these?: folder:
HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-3285624642-1101989480-562424573-1006

it has a couple files called FC2F4AA5-1CB3-AF0D-842A38AE823E with data of 0x000000000 (0)
type: REG_DWORD
eh I dunno, I want these windows gone -- I had downloader trojan and these are the leftovers I guess. My System32 folder opens too upon startup.
Anyone know anything about this and how to fix? How do I find out what registry items to delete?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

System32 folder@ Startup--check the replys here:

I had this happen to a friends computer, after we Cancelled the already started installation of
Yahoo Messenger. Canceling the the installation had caused System32 folder to show up at boot.

So, another day we reinstalled Y.M., and problem
went away.
