ive just recently stumbled across a bootable win98 cd, and have begun the process of reinstalling. i have formatted my hard drive, and when i started to install 98, it told me to rot in hell, no. it came across a general protection fault. so i tried 95. which also gave me a thumbs down with some strange alphanumeric swear word. Me was my last resort, anything at all in order to get a system on it. so i tried ME and right away it had a truetype font error which isnt a big deal, it let me continue. further on, it would search for my windows 98 installation. and ask for my cd. so i gave it the cd the first time and it checked it verified and continued. then closed with a SUWIN error. i reformatted and tried again, and now it wont recognize my win98 cd. and none of the other OS' will install. ive never had this problem before, and i dont know how to solve it. i tried going directly to 2000 but i forgot it doesnt install in dos mode. any ideas for a computer without a floppy drive, which boots to a command prompt but wont install? i checked out suwin errors and they all said IF YOU HAVE AN OPERATING SYSTEM and i said i dont, and it said you suck. there was much conversation. please get back to me, or im screwed...
