I had a local test web server and it worked fine when testing my website, then I would send the files over to the production webserver located in another state.

I recently had to have the test webserver also in the same state as the production webserver, so the files were copied from the local test webserver onto the new webserver located in a different state where the productin web server also is.

The problem is, the files have been copied over to the test web server, but the web server does not seem to work, asp pages do not log people in like the previous local test web server does, simple changes in the <body> to just display words (for testing purposes) do not show up!! but when i do this same testing on the local webserver the words display and users are still able to log in!!

am i missing a setting in this new test server?

dll's that the asp pages use have been registered on this new test server.

A simple change to the <body> like adding a word to see if it just shows up on the login page does not work!!! while it still does work on the old test server, what is the problem????

This could be a million things. The first thing is that if one asp page works, then it isn't a dll issue (most likely). If your asp installation was errored, then you would probably get 400 errors on your pages.

The next thing I would check is to make sure that you are uploading the files to the right directory on the server. I would log into the machine and manually pull the files after you have uploaded them to make sure the changes have taken place.

If this isn't the thing, check IIS and make sure it is pulling from that folder.

Lastly, you could have a DNS error, and for some reason it is pulling from an old version of your site. Check your DNS settings and make sure you have everything in the right place.

Hopefully this helps, but if it doesn't, then let me know.
