EW2 sees the "website" at "c:\doc\bla bla bla\my web sites". My personal folder for all my website stuff resides in c:\dapper\website (simple). Abyss runs from and this has been the folder IIS used for 4 years before switching to Abyss last year. Currently, IIS is not even looking at a valid folder, nor am I using it, and IIS never even looked at that "my web sites" location ever.

How can I get EW2 to see that the website is actually at "c:\dapper\website"?

Thank you.

As God blesses America, resistance will be, and always has been, futile.

From another board.....

Updated info. Not sure what I did, but I got a dialog about checking the metadata box under site settings. Did that and it added new folders under my personal directory. _vti_cnf and _vti_pvt, with files to go in them. FrontPage files but the DWT and the test HTML I made were done in EW2, not FP (but my computer does have FP2003 loaded as part of Office 2003 Enterprise). Not sure if the meta or the FP folders did it, but all options are now working (for the moment).

EW2 opens right away to my personal website folder.

NEW > CREATE FROM DWT is still there.

FORMAT > DWT now works.

Updating DWT used pages (well, just my one test HTML) updates while closed now.

SITE > RECALCULATE HYPERLINKS now appears (never did before).

I guess closing the site was the first to make the major difference, and then updating the check box under SITE > SITE SETTINGS > MANAGE... worked in order.

So far, so good. Thank you, Christoph. I will see how this goes.

As America learns to once again bless God, resistance will once again be futile.
