What hardware do you have? T1, U2, Sparc 20, etc? What peripherals are usually attached? Sounds like the problem with termination or the system board.

Did you add any hardware before the problem?

I'm having a hard time setting up a new install of solaris 8 on an ultra 1 creator with a barracuda ST19171WC. During the install I get a bad magic number on the hard disk and it kicks me out to a root# I'm not fimiliar with setting up a new harddrive on a sun system if anyone can help me with a detailed setup it would be greatly appreciated. I'm not fimiliar with the format command at all and if this is what I need to learn any help would be great. Email me if you like as I rarely frequent this site.
Thanks
Jeremiah
