Since I'm considering upgrading my computer, I was wondering and I HAD to make sure that if there had to be a specific type of power supply unit that's "compatible" with computer case, i.e if the PSU can fit inside my case.

I know about Standard ATX and MicroATX, but I'm pretty sure mines Standard ATX but I want to know if I can just, say, pick any PSU out of the shelf and if it could fit inside my case. Please help.

Thanks.

The dimensions of ATX PSUs are standardized, but the wiring & plug configuration can be different depending on which ATX spec the PSU conforms to...ATX, ATX12V, ATX12V 2.0, ATX12V 2.2, etc.

Great! I looked inside my case and there was a fair bit of space in front of the PSU, and about 2cm of space on both sides. Thanks for the help by the way. :)
