Reply: What's the status of the drive? Does it have anything on it? Or did it? Have you tried a low-level format and running fdisk again? And what about the system? Always worked fine in the past? Ever had dos on it before?

Reply: My system works fine with win2k..
but now I want to install MS DOS 6.22 with new HDD... yes, I`ll try a low-level format and running fdisk again.. If you have any other idea ,let me know. Thanks.....

Reply: How large is the drive? MS-DOS will only install on a drive upto 2.1 Gigabytes! No need to run Low Level Format. In fact it is a BAD IDEA on modern drives. But you do need to run FDISK to reconfigure your harddrive to FAT16. Y2K uses a differant format.

Reply: I have DOS installed on an 8 gig drive. I had trouble with it until I ran the LLFormat. Then it worked fine. (It's a brand new Quantum drive)
