Subject: SYSTEM UNSTABLE @ 140MHzOS: Soyo DragonUltra KT333CPU/Ram: anthon xp1900+ / 256MB PC |
Comment: 1st time comp builder and over clocker. MOBO-SOYO DRAGONULTRA KT333, FULL SIZE TOWER W/ 420w, CPU AMD|1900+/266 ATHLON, DDRAM 256MB/PC-2700 DDR333. My problem occured when I overclocked in my BIOS the CPU:DRAM frequency from 139MHz to 140MHz. My comp. shutdown 50% of the time w/ windows saying error report. Upon restart error reading File system on C: (FAT 32) checking disk error, then would boot up fine. I went into Smartguardian to check temps and CPU temp was fine @ 44-45c. Do I need to increase a voltage somewhere? If so, where and how much? Is my RAM unstable? (hence the shutdown) Also, at 139MHz my CPU reads 2000, but at 140MHz it reads 1680MHz. What does that mean? HELP! PLEASE! And any other advice would be helpful on proper overclocking, thanks guys!

Reply: you cant keep it stable at 140 Mhz, who cares what it says? but, it's probably the fact that your mobo was manufactured before xp2000= were released...although I don't know for sure because I don't like soyo and don' read about them... :0
