How to make windows 7 boot a little faster and some performance increase tips.
Start up programs and bloatware (unwanted free trials and software preloaded on a computer by the manufacturer) can make windows 7 boot slower as trials will pop up when you first start up your computer or laptop, you can uninstall the programs you don’t want by using the control panel, this is the proper way of uninstalling programs.
To uninstall a program
Step 1. Go to the control panel (on the right underneath computer) via the start menu.
Step 2. Go to programs and then go on uninstall a program and it will load a list of installed programs.
Step 3. Click on the program you want to uninstall then right click.
Step 4. Click on uninstall and a uninstall wizard for the program will come up eventually if not straight away.
Step 5. When the uninstalling is in process you can do some other things while its uninstalling.
Step 6. When the wizard has completed successfully you have just uninstalled a program.
Start up programs
Start up programs are programs that launch when you start up your computer, for example if Internet Explorer was a start up program it would load when you start you computer, this can slow the computers boot time down depending on how many start up programs you have got, removing the ones that you don’t need is not very hard.
Step 1. You can access the start up folder via all programs via the start menu.
Step 2. When you have found the start up folder which will be in the ‘s’ section and will be labeled startup.
Step 3. Don’t delete the folder, open the folder and delete its contents ( highlight all startup programs, right click, delete and they will be sent to the recycle bin which you can empty).
Step 4. Restart your computer to see if the boot times are quicker .
Step 5. There are still more startup files which you can delete by going on the start menu and search system configuration then press enter.
Step 6. a window will come up, there are several tabs at the top, go onto startup, and go through the ones you know you don’t need and uncheck them, don’t uncheck the ones you don’t know as they could be important, especially system programs and manufacturer programs, after you have unchecked the ones you don’t need click apply at the bottom and click restart.
Now your computer should boot a little faster.
