Solved Cannot login. freezes at login prompt after I press enter

Gateway 2006 Windows XP SP3 completely freezes after password entered at Login. Replaced battery. It will run in safe mode. I have scanned with Spybot and defragged. Before the freeze I noticed an error coming up each time I shut down. TBVerifier.dll
Any suggestions?

I had searched previously for the answer to this problem and everything I found was years old. Since I did not get a response I went back and tried a solution from one of the old posts. Tapping F8 and selecting “last known config that worked” worked! Now to find out what caused this issue! Thanks computing.net!

    1. Seems it is due to “Search Conduit”. There are a number of removal methods given here:
