windows 8 will not let me do anything as an administrator.

Everytime I try to refresh or restore my computer or remove an unwanted program it says “are you sure” but you can only press no. Then it says type administrator password but there is no way to type it. I have spent over 10 hours trying to figure this out. I am willing to wipe everything out and start again but I cannot do that unless I am an administrator.
